Record Breakers: April 2025

Many New York State records were broken recently at the 2025 National Masters Championships. Congratulations to all of our newest record breakers!⁣

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗟𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘇 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 improved upon her own state records in the Masters Women’s 35-39 age group and 87 kg weight class with a 77 kg snatch and 171 kg total. Her previous records, set at the 2024 NYC Regional Open, were 73 kg and 168 kg, respectively.⁣

𝗔𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗻 set a new state record in the Masters Women’s 40-44 age group and 87 kg weight class with an 89 kg clean and jerk, surpassing her own previous record of 87 kg from the 2024 North American Open Finals.⁣

𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗘𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 set three new state records in the Masters Women’s 45-49 age group and 87 kg weight class: 53 kg snatch, 67 kg clean and jerk, and 120 kg total. These lifts surpassed the previous record standards of 49 kg (snatch), 60 kg (CJ), and 109 kg (total).⁣

𝗝𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗻 broke all three state records in the Masters Women’s 55-59 age group and 55 kg weight class with a 50 kg snatch, 58 kg clean and jerk, and 108 kg total. The previous records—30 kg, 36 kg, and 66 kg—were held by Jean Beattie (2019 518 Summer Showdown).⁣

𝗧𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗡𝗶𝗸𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮 set new state records in the Masters Women’s 55-59 age group and 71 kg weight class with a 46 kg snatch, 63 kg clean and jerk, and 109 kg total. Her snatch surpassed the previous record standard of 36 kg. The CJ and total records were previously held by Victoria Ferreira (52 kg CJ, 87 kg total at the 2022 National Masters Championships).⁣

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗮 broke the state records in the Masters Men’s 50-54 age group and 73 kg weight class with an 87 kg snatch and 196 kg total, surpassing Richard Condon’s 83 kg snatch and 192 kg total from the 2018 Howard Cohen American Masters.⁣

Several records were recently broken at the 2025 ADK Regional Open. In addition, an older, previously unreported record has been verified, and some corrections have been made to the State Meet Records.⁣

𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗻 broke all three state records in the Masters Men’s 60-64 age group and 89 kg weight class with a 63 kg snatch, 91 kg clean and jerk, and 154 kg total. His snatch surpassed the old standard of 61 kg. The previous CJ and total records (78 kg and 138 kg) were held by Kevin Tucker (2021 NYS Championships).⁣

𝗝𝗲𝗳𝗳 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿 broke state records in the Masters Men’s 60-64 age group and 109 kg weight class with a 91 kg clean and jerk and 155 kg total, surpassing Gerard Finn’s 83 kg CJ and 152 kg total from the 2018 Christmas & Kilos.⁣

August 3, 2024 – Jeff also set a 93 kg clean and jerk record at the CNY Regional Open in the Masters Men’s 55-59 age group and 109+ kg weight class, breaking the old record standard of 91 kg.⁣

Several typos affecting 𝗝𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲’𝘀 NYS Championships records in the masters men’s age group and in both the 73 kg and 81 kg weight classes have been fixed:⁣

In the 73 kg class, his lifts were incorrectly listed as 80 kg snatch, 105 kg clean and jerk, and 185 kg total. These have been corrected to 49 kg snatch, 61 kg clean and jerk, and 110 kg total.⁣

In the 81 kg class, his lifts were incorrectly listed as 101 kg snatch, 130 kg clean and jerk, and 231 kg total. These have been corrected to 47 kg snatch, 58 kg clean and jerk, and 105 kg total.⁣
