Congratulations to the outstanding NY WSO athletes, coaches, and clubs who competed at the 2024 National Masters Championships in Reno, Nevada from Thursday, March 21st to Sunday, March 24th!
The Medalist from the New York WSO:
Adanze Asante (W60 87+) earned silver three medals: 38 kg SN, 42 kg CJ, and 80 kg total.
Alba Fortuna (W40 76) earned a bronze medal with a 78 kg CJ.
Catherine Galli (W50 59) earned two silver medals: 60 kg CJ and 115 kg total, and a gold medal: 55 kg SN and the title of National Champion.
Jennifer Nelson (W50 55) earned three bronze medals: 49 kg SN, 60 kg CJ, and 109 kg total.
Stella Ladao (W50 55) earned three gold medals: 63 kg SN, 74 kg CJ, and 137 kg total. Not only was she the champion of her age group & weight class, Stella’s performance also made her the Best Female Lifter overall, with a 286.926 Sinclair-Huebner-Meltzer-Faber score.
Katie Hejtmanek (W45 59) earned three gold medals: 69 kg SN, 84 kg CJ, and 153 kg total. This made Katie the National Champion of her age group & weight class, and placed her as the 7th female lifter overall, with a 251.321 Sinclair-Huebner-Meltzer-Faber score.
William McClure (M60 89) earned three bronze medals: 61 kg SN, 91 kg CJ, and 152 kg total.
Lan Nguyen (M55 73) earned a silver medal with a 76 kg SN, and two gold medals: 98 kg CJ and 174 kg total along with the title of National Champion.
Daniel Kunitz (M55 81) earned three gold medals: 85 kg SN, 105 kg CJ, and 190 kg total and the title of National Champion.
Martin Palma (M50 67) earned three gold medals: 85 kg SN, 101 kg CJ, and 186 kg total and the title of National Champion.
Michael Law (M50 73) earned a silver medal with a 86 kg CJ.
Carl Nelson (M40 81) earned a silver medal with a 97 kg SN and a bronze medal with a 221 kg total.
Scott Baxter (M40 109) earned three silver medals: 101 kg SN, 130 kg CJ, and 231 kg total.
Taylor McRae (M35 89) earned a silver medal with a 115 kg SN.
