2026 Scholarship Updates

Here are updates on our WSO scholarship programs.

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 & 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀⁣

Applications are now open for our Youth and Junior Athlete Scholarships. Application Deadline: Thursday, May 21, 2016. This scholarship provides support to NY WSO athletes attending USA Weightlifting National Championships Week.⁣ 

Last year, we supported twelve incredible athletes. We’re excited to extend this opportunity to even more in 2026.⁣

This year, we are also welcoming scholarship sponsors — local businesses or individuals who would like to play a direct role in supporting youth athletes at the grassroots level.⁣

⁣

A sponsorship of $175 covers the full National Championship entry fee for one athlete. With travel, lodging, and competition expenses adding up quickly, removing this cost can make a meaningful difference for a family and help ensure a deserving young lifter can represent New York on the national stage. Businesses and individuals are welcome to sponsor multiple athletes.⁣

The WSO will not be offering coaching scholarships this year. Our committee will reevaluate the program this fall in preparation for 2027.⁣
