2023 North American Open Finals Recap

Congratulations to all the athletes, coaches, and technical officials who represented the NY WSO during the 2023 North American Open Finals held in Wilmington, North Carolina from December 7th to December 10th. We are proud of everyone’s hard work to reach this level of competition and their outstanding performances.⁣

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗬𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗪𝗦𝗢:⁣

𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻:⁣

Thomas Smalley earned three gold medals with a 90 kg snatch, a 115 kg clean and jerk, and a 205 kg total.⁣

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻:⁣

Danika Lorenzo (13U 55) earned three bronze medals with a 36 kg snatch, a 50 kg clean and jerk, and an 86 kg total.⁣

⁣

Mateo Zikoyanis (13U 55) earned three bronze medals with a 38 kg snatch, a 49 kg clean and jerk, and an 87 kg total.⁣

⁣

Nia Black (16-17 64) earned three bronze medals with a 68 kg snatch, a 78 kg clean and jerk, and a 146 kg total.⁣

𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻:⁣

Olivia Piacentini (W35 87) earned a silver medal with a 97 kg clean and jerk.⁣

⁣

Alexandria Zikoyanis (W40 55) earned a silver medal with a 49 kg snatch, and bronze medals with a 63 kg clean and jerk and a 112 kg total.  ⁣

⁣

Sara Soto (W40 87) earned three silver medals with a 53 kg snatch, a 71 kg clean and jerk, and a 124 kg total.⁣

⁣

Amanda Cann (W40 87+) earned a bronze medal with a 66 kg snatch, a silver medal with an 82 kg clean and jerk, and a bronze medal with a 148 kg total.⁣

⁣

Tatiana Nikitina (W50 71) earned three gold medals with a 46 kg snatch, a 58 kg clean and jerk, and a 104 kg total.⁣

⁣

Albert Chun (M35 109) earned a gold medal with a 125 kg snatch, a silver medal with a 160 kg clean and jerk, & a gold medal with a 285 kg total.⁣

⁣

Ryan Hansen (M35 109) earned a silver medal with a 125 kg snatch, a bronze medal with a 160 kg clean and jerk, and a silver medal with a 285 kg total. Ryan also placed 3rd in the Military Masters category.⁣

Martin Palma (M45 67) earned three gold medals with a 86 kg snatch, a 105 kg clean and jerk, and a 191 kg total.⁣

⁣

Hank Berger (M65 81) earned three gold medals with a 61 kg snatch, an 87 kg clean and jerk, and a 148 kg total.⁣
